The Clinical Lead Physiotherapist - Education and Support role will see you shaping the development of physiotherapy education with the public health system in Tasmania’s North and supporting its growth across Tasmania. Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and coordination of student placements including overseeing compliance requirements, placement planning and coordination, orientation and evaluation.
- Provide leadership, education and support to clinical educators across the physiotherapy department.
- Provide new graduate support and training that is evidence based and develops clinical competence and professional identity while supporting wellbeing.
- Coordinate staff education, training and support clinical governance requirements in collaboration with the physiotherapy and allied health leadership team.
- Support the recruitment and orientation of new staff within the department.
- Support the leadership team in the operational and strategic decisions within the physiotherapy department.
- Represent Physiotherapy North within THS networks including statewide working groups/projects, Northern education collaborative groups and Allied health.
- Represent Physiotherapy and Allied Health with external stakeholders as required and develop opportunities and partnerships that benefit the THS and the community.
- Work with universities, including the University of Tasmania, to ensure appropriate education resources and networking opportunities.
- Develop, monitor and report on Physiotherapy services, Launceston General Hospital, by utilising effective data management and analysis skills.
- Be a resource person for clinical education in THS North.
Details of appointment: Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, 7 July 2025 until 27 March 2026.
Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Benefits available to eligible candidates include travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate, professional development and accelerated pathways, a range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support, and Fitness Passport.
Eligibility:
- Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
- Satisfactory completion of an appropriate allied health professional course of study at a recognised tertiary institution and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, eligible for membership with the relevant professional association.
- Five or more years post-graduate experience as an allied health professional including experience in supervising and supporting pre-entry students and new graduate allied health professionals.
- Current Driver’s licence.
