The Team
Located on the stunning East Coast of Tasmania, St. Helens District Hospital has Tasmania’s busiest rural emergency department, with an increase in emergency presentations during peak tourist season from December until April. The hospital provides a fast‑paced environment that delivers high quality patient centred care. Our focus is on providing excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role
- To prepare, cook and provide meals of the highest standard to consumers and staff at the St. Helens District Hospital and deliver meal recipients in the community.
- In the absence of the Cook/Hotel Services Supervisor provide day to day direction and supervision of hotel services support staff.
- Maintain equipment hygiene in kitchen area, ensuring that staff working in this area comply with all safety and food safety regulations and requirements.

Details of appointment
Permanent part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 19 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join our team.
Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$63,110 to $66,049 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

You’ll have access to a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
