The Department of Health is seeking a qualified Allied Health Professional for ADS Consultation and Liaison (526172d) in the North of Tasmania.
Please note that this position is also advertised as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (526172) in the North, and will be filled on merit.
The Team:
We are a multidisciplinary team providing Alcohol and Drug treatment and support to clients, offering support to other services in treatment options and referral pathways.
The MDT team includes Allied Health, Nursing, and Medical Officers, and is part of the SMHS alcohol and drug statewide service.
Located in Launceston, in the North of Tasmania.
Our services work closely together to deliver excellence in healthcare, aiming for improved outcomes for our consumers, workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
Be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality AOD services, in accordance with Agency policy, legal requirements, and professional competencies, to clients, carers, support persons, families, and other professionals within the ADS Consultation and Liaison Service.
You will need to:
- Collaborate with ADS and stakeholders to provide holistic, high-quality, specialist Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs (ATOD) care to clients;
- Ensure continuity of care between the ADS Consultation and Liaison Service and the community, following transfer of care protocols;
- Provide leadership and strategic development for a collaborative care model involving the Agency, Tasmanian Health Services, secure facilities, and stakeholders;
- Develop and manage clinical processes to optimise resources and client outcomes;
- Enhance participation of stakeholders, clients, and families at all service levels.

Details of appointment:
This is a permanent part-time position, up to 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable.
Applicants should note that, for twelve months from the publication date, this process may be used to fill similar vacancies.
Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
- Salary is in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.
Salary Packaging:
Access to salary packaging benefits, including living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 for meal entertainment per FBT year, plus other benefits if eligible.
Allowances:
- Access to salaries beyond $130,900 depends on qualifications and application to the personal upgrade scheme.
Additional allowances based on salary increment include:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.
Benefits for eligible candidates include:
- Travel and relocation assistance up to $15,000 for overseas, and $10,000 for interstate applicants;

Eligibility:
Applicants must meet essential criteria:
- Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
- Hold a tertiary qualification approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and be a full member or eligible for membership; or
- Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia;
- Current Working with Children Registration.
Registrations and licenses must remain current during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure they are valid and to notify the employer of any changes.
Desirable criteria include:
- Postgraduate qualification in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD);
- Current Driver’s License.
