We have an exciting opportunity for a Depot, Fleet & Logistics Manager to join our business. The Depot, Fleet & Logistics Manager will work closely with the Delivery Manager, Construction Managers, Maintenance Managers, Planning & Preworks, Scheduling and Night Operations. The role leads fleet, plant, equipment, materials and logistics coordination across the full project, ensuring operational readiness and supporting safe, efficient delivery of maintenance and programmed works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fleet & Plant Management
- Lead management of the fleet and plant portfolio supporting maintenance and project delivery
- Ensure fleet availability, compliance and utilisation align with operational requirements
- Oversee servicing, inspections, repairs, replacements and accident recovery
- Maintain fleet registers, compliance records, fuel cards, toll accounts and insurance listings
- Monitor fleet performance, utilisation and operating costs and identify improvement opportunities
- Depot Operations & Logistics
- Lead day-to-day depot and yard operations
- Ensure safe, organised and efficient depot and storage environments
- Develop and maintain effective logistics and material handling processes
- Coordinate plant, equipment and materials movements to support field crews and night operations
- Ensure depot operations comply with all HSEQ and operational requirements
- Materials & Inventory Management
- Oversee stock, materials and inventory management across civil and ITS maintenance activities
- Ensure materials and equipment are available to support delivery teams
- Improve stock tracking, inventory accuracy and procurement coordination
- Lead stocktake processes and inventory reporting
- Improve integration between stores, finance and maintenance systems
- Program & Delivery Alignment
- Work closely with managers and supervisors to align fleet, plant and materials with planned works
- Support Planning & Preworks and Scheduling by aligning logistics and plant availability to forward programs
- Ensure field crews have the equipment, materials and plant required to deliver works safely and efficiently
- Support emergency and reactive works through responsive logistics coordination
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure fleet, plant and depot operations comply with regulatory and company requirements
- Maintain registers for inspections, servicing, equipment certification and safety equipment
- Promote a strong safety culture across depot and logistics operations
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and support the coordinator and storeperson roles
- Build clear processes, responsibilities and performance expectations across depot operations
- Foster collaboration between depot, delivery teams and support functions
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, utilisation and cost control
About You:
- Demonstrated experience in fleet, plant, depot or logistics management within construction or maintenance environment
- Experience managing operational support functions across multiple crews or delivery teams, ensuring alignment with forward works programs
- Strong understanding of fleet and plant compliance requirements, including servicing, inspections, certification and regulatory obligations
- Proven ability to coordinate resources, logistics and materials to support safe and efficient delivery of works
- Experience in leading teams and managing direct reports, including setting expectations, driving performance and building capability
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond to operational demands
- Experience managing multi-site depot, yard or warehouse operations
- Understanding of procurement, supplier coordination and inventory management processes
- Knowledge of heavy vehicle, plant and equipment compliance requirements, including registration, certification, maintenance schedules and safety standards
- Understanding of inventory and materials management, including stock control, tracking, stocktake processes and integration with procurement systems
- Knowledge of HSEQ requirements relevant to fleet, plant and depot operations, including safe systems of work, inspections and risk controls
