Service Service is recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner Setter / Operator to join a manufacturing business in Thetford. This role supports a permanent night shift, working Monday to Thursday, and involves setting and operating CNC turning centres to produce precision components to specification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC turning machines, including tooling, offsets, and work holding
  • Prove out jobs safely and ensure parts meet drawing specifications
  • Work with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi (DMG MORI)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and basic GD&T
  • Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using measuring equipment
  • Identify and resolve basic machining or quality issues
  • Maintain safe working practices and a clean, organised workspace

About You

  • Proven experience as a CNC Setter / Operator in Turning within a production environment
  • Strong understanding of CNC turning processes and multi-axis machining
  • Confident using inspection equipment such as verniers and micrometres
  • Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety

Desirable

  • Experience with DMG MORI, Citizen, or Fanuc-based machines
  • Ability to make minor program edits at the machine
  • Familiarity with SOPs, control plans, or basic SPC
  • Experience machining a range of materials including steel, aluminium, and stainless steel
