Principal RF Hardware Engineer Norwich £85,000 per annum Hybrid / On-site Service Service is recruiting for an experienced Principal RF Hardware Engineer to join an established engineering business developing precision RF and electrical calibration equipment.

This is a senior technical role responsible for the design, simulation, validation and lifecycle of RF and mixed-signal hardware, from concept through to production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and design of precision RF and mixed-signal hardware.
  • Design across DC to 27GHz, with 50GHz+ experience desirable.
  • Perform RF simulation, modelling and analysis using tools such as ADS, AWR, HFSS or CST.
  • Use VNAs, spectrum/phase-noise analysers, signal generators, power meters and TDRs.
  • Lead design reviews, verification, risk management and component obsolescence.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and test teams on design-for-manufacture and yield.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring across the engineering team.
  • Contribute to future RF technology and product development. The Ideal Candidate:
  • Degree qualified in Electrical, Electronic, RF or Microwave Engineering.
  • 10+ years' hands-on precision RF/mixed-signal hardware experience.
  • Proven track record of taking RF products into production.
  • Strong knowledge of low phase noise, signal generation, frequency conversion and signal integrity.
  • Experience with RF simulation and test equipment.
  • Good understanding of metrology and measurement traceability.
  • Strong technical leadership and communication skills.
