Service Service is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer with experience in Software, Robotics & Automation for a highly technical electronics manufacturer based in Norwich.
This role focuses on industrial automation, robotics integration, and software-driven manufacturing systems within a precision engineering environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong programming and automation expertise looking to work on advanced manufacturing technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software for robotic systems and automated test equipment.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, PLCs, and control systems into production processes.
- Support and optimise assembly and test manufacturing systems.
- Implement machine vision and motion control solutions.
- Troubleshoot automation, robotics, and embedded systems issues.
- Document software, system architecture, and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with hardware and production engineering teams to improve efficiency and reliability.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong programming experience in C/C++, Lab VIEW, and Python.
- Experience with industrial robotics platforms (ABB, Fanuc, KUKA or similar).
- PLC programming and SCADA systems knowledge.
- Experience with motion control, machine vision, and embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of automated assembly and test environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable
- AI/Machine Learning knowledge for predictive maintenance or smart automation.
- Experience with Io T or edge computing in manufacturing.
- Background in electronics manufacturing.
- Additional Information
- Up to £45,000 per annum.
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
