Service is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Machinery Fitter to join a well‑established engineering manufacturer based in Norwich on a temporary six‑week assignment. This is a hands‑on role involving the assembly, testing, and fault‑finding of specialist machinery. The successful candidate will work across electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, supporting machine builds and maintenance activities during a busy production period.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and assemble machinery from electrical schematics and engineering drawings
- Carry out wiring, soldering, crimping, loom assembly, and panel building
- Test, inspect, and service machinery to ensure operational performance
- Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
- Support machine installation and maintenance activities as required
- Work with PLC‑controlled equipment and assist with fault finding
- Complete relevant documentation and reports accurately
About You
- Time‑served apprentice or equivalent industry experience
- Proven experience in machine wiring, panel building, and electrical assembly
- Strong fault‑finding skills to component level
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems
- Experience working with PLC‑controlled machinery
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and technical drawings
- Competent using Microsoft Office applications
- Self‑motivated and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
