Service is recruiting for a Commercial Vehicle Design Engineer on behalf of a specialist engineering manufacturer based in Droitwich. This is a great opportunity to join a growing business involved in the design and development of bespoke recovery vehicles.
The Role
- Design and develop mechanical systems and structures for commercial and recovery vehicles
- Produce 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
- Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings in AutoCAD
- Support fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective
- Carry out basic engineering calculations relating to load capacity and material selection
- Maintain technical documentation, BOMs, and drawing revisions
- Support continuous improvement of existing designs
About You
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Design Engineering
- Strong experience using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D
- Background in mechanical design within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Understanding of fabrication, welding, and machining processes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Desirable Experience
- Commercial vehicle, heavy vehicle, or recovery vehicle design
- Hydraulic systems knowledge
