Service is recruiting for a CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC professional to join a modern machine shop, programming, setting and operating a range of CNC turning and milling machines while supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set and operate CNC turning and milling machines
  • Produce high-precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Create, edit and optimise CNC programs to improve efficiency and quality
  • Select tooling, fixtures and machining strategies for a variety of components
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling and programming issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the machine shop
  • Carry out machine maintenance and ensure equipment is operating effectively
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping

About You

  • Proven CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment
  • Strong programming, setting and operating experience across turning and/or milling disciplines
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Experience producing high-precision components to tight tolerances
  • Strong problem-solving skills
