Supervisor – Woking, Surrey
We are recruiting an experienced Supervisor to join a well-established property maintenance and facilities management operation in Woking, Surrey.
This is a permanent opportunity offering a salary of £45,000 per annum.
The successful Supervisor will oversee building maintenance, repairs and refurbishment projects from initial inspection through to completion. You will survey properties, identify root causes, scope remedial works and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, compliantly and cost-effectively.
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Conduct building surveys and diagnose defects, including damp, mould and disrepair issues.
- Identify root causes and develop effective, long-term remedial solutions.
- Scope, plan and manage repairs, maintenance and refurbishment works.
- Supervise directly employed operatives and contractors, monitoring quality, progress and performance.
- Prepare accurate technical reports, maintain records and identify recurring issues and trends.
- Recruit, induct, coach and support operatives, including toolbox talks, performance reviews and absence management.
- Promote health and safety compliance, complete workplace observations and investigate incidents.
- Manage tenant interactions professionally and escalt complaints or significant issues where required.
- Provide technical support to operational teams and participate in out-of-hours escalation, including site attendance when necessary.
Supervisor Requirements
- Minimum five years’ experience in multi-trade building maintenance.
- Proven experience managing repairs, maintenance and planned works.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building regulations and relevant legislation.
- Experience conducting surveys, diagnosing defects and preparing technical reports.
- Demonstrable ability to manage projects from inception through to completion.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- HNC/HND or NVQ Level 4 or above in Building Studies or Construction, plus PCA CSTDB or CSRT certification.
- Degree-level Building Surveying qualification, RICS/CIOB membership or PCA certification would be advantageous.
