Litigation Lawyer – Contract Role (2 Weeks)
Are you an experienced Litigation Lawyer seeking a challenging contract opportunity? We are currently recruiting for a Litigation Lawyer to join a local authority litigation team for an initial 2-week contract, with the potential for extension. This role offers an excellent chance to utilise your civil litigation expertise within a dynamic environment, primarily working remotely with occasional office attendance.
Job Overview
The Litigation Lawyer will be responsible for managing a wide range of civil litigation cases, including contract disputes, judicial review defenses, property litigation, and debt claims. The role offers competitive pay at £65 per hour, alongside a comprehensive benefits package including a £250 training allowance, daily payroll runs, and access to referral and loyalty bonus schemes.
Candidate Responsibilities
- Managing civil litigation cases within a local authority context
- Defending judicial review claims and handling contract disputes
- Assisting with property litigation matters and debt recovery proceedings
- Addressing homelessness issues and appeals related to homelessness and FTT improvement notices
- Providing legal advice and support across related civil issues
- Attending courts, mediations, or other judiciary hearings in person when required
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies throughout case management
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in civil litigation, ideally within a local authority or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures and civil dispute resolution
- Experience in housing-related work, homelessness, or appeals (desirable but not essential)
- Additional experience in criminal, regulatory, licensing, or school attendance work (advantageous)
- Ability to work remotely, with flexibility for office attendance on the first day
