Children's Social Worker - Wigan Council - Temporary Contract
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for experienced Children's Social Workers to join Wigan Council across Locality, Duty, Children with Disabilities (CWD), and The Hub teams.
Role Details
Location: Wigan
Contract: Temporary, 3+ months
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Pay Rate: £38 per hour
Umbrella £29.80 per hour
PAYE
Responsibilities
- Undertake assessments and manage a caseload of children and families.
- Complete statutory visits, care planning, and reviews.
- Work within Locality, Duty, CWD, or Hub services depending on team allocation.
- Liaise with multi-agency professionals to ensure positive outcomes for children.
- Prepare reports and attend relevant meetings, conferences, and court proceedings where required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Qualified Social Worker status
- Experience within Children's Services
- Enhanced DBS
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
