Plasterer Salary: £34,250 per annum Location: Redhill, Surrey and surrounding areas Contract: Permanent Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week Company Van, Tools and Uniform Provided
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plasterer to join an established housing provider's repairs and maintenance team, covering Redhill and surrounding areas, with work extending from Croydon towards Brighton. This is a permanent position carrying out plastering repairs, maintenance and reinstatement works across occupied and empty social housing properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship, ensuring properties are maintained to the required standards and providing an excellent service to residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out plastering repairs and maintenance within occupied and void social housing properties.
- Complete patch plastering, skimming, bonding and full wall and ceiling plastering.
- Undertake plasterboard repairs, replacements and general making-good works.
- Carry out plastering reinstatement following damp and mould treatments, leaks and other property repairs.
- Prepare walls, ceilings and surfaces before applying plaster finishes.
- Identify damaged plasterwork and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard, achieving a good finish.
- Work independently, managing allocated jobs and completing works within agreed timescales.
- Accurately update job information and completion records using a handheld device.
- Communicate professionally with residents while working within their homes.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety requirements.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in Plastering, City & Guilds or equivalent trade qualification/experience.
- Proven experience carrying out domestic plastering repairs and maintenance.
- Previous experience within social housing, property maintenance or responsive repairs is desirable.
- Competent in patch plastering, skimming, plasterboarding and general plastering repairs.
- Experience completing reinstatement works following damp and mould repairs.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily workloads.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to complete a Basic DBS check.
