Trade Engineer (Carpenter) Location: Solihull Salary: £ 24.65p/h Contract: 3 months, with potential to go permanent Hours: 37 hours per week Monday–Thursday: 8am–4pm | Friday: 8am–3:30pm
The Role
We’re looking for a skilled and qualified Trade Engineer (Carpenter) to join our Voids Team. Reporting to the Supervisor, you’ll carry out repairs, maintenance and planned works across residential properties, public buildings and commercial premises, with a particular focus on void kitchens and bathrooms.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out carpentry repairs, installations and planned works
- Undertake associated multi-skilled tasks where required
- Complete repairs and refurbishments within void kitchens and bathrooms
- Diagnose and rectify faults within your trade
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety, regulatory and compliance requirements
- Manage company equipment, materials and van stock
- Work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Participate in an emergency call-out rota where applicable
- Work flexibly between 8am and 6pm, Monday–Friday, as required
About You
- City & Guilds or S/NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry – essential
- Advanced Craft City & Guilds or S/NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry – desirable
- CSCS Card or equivalent
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong experience across all aspects of carpentry
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Social housing experience – desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
