Service Care Solutions are seeking a dedicated Team Manager - Help & Protection Team to join our client Borough Council on a temporary contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for an established leader to oversee a busy children's services team, making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families.
About the Role:
As the Team Manager - Help & Protection Team , you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to a team of social workers managing complex child protection cases, safeguarding initiatives, and family support services. Your role will ensure statutory compliance, high-quality practice, and effective intervention strategies, all aimed at achieving positive outcomes for children and young people. You will lead through regular supervision, performance management, and case audits, supporting your team in navigatng the complexities of safeguarding work. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with partner agencies such as education, health services, and law enforcement to strengthen safeguarding efforts.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of social workers within the Help & Protection Team
- Oversee complex child protection, safeguarding, and family support cases
- Ensure compliance with statutory and legislative requirements
- Support staff through regular supervision, performance reviews, and case audits
- Make informed decisions on safeguarding matters, prioritising children's welfare
- Liaise with partner agencies to coordinate safeguarding efforts and to achieve positive outcomes
- Manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines and quality standards
Candidate Requirements:
- Significant experience in Children’s Social Care
- Prior experience as a Team Manager or Senior Practitioner
- Strong knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding legislation
- Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and support social work teams
- Registered with Social Work England
- Hold an enhanced DBS check
