Salary: £40,444 – £46,579 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
About the Role
Service Care Solutions is recruiting an experienced Adults Social Worker to join the Adults West Team at Southend-on-Sea City Council on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Social Worker who has completed their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) and is looking to progress their career within Adult Social Care. The role offers the opportunity to work with adults who have a range of care and support needs, promoting independence, safeguarding vulnerable individuals and helping people achieve positive outcomes within their communities. You will use a person-centred, strengths-based approach to assessments, care planning and interventions, working collaboratively with individuals, families, carers and partner agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive Care Act 2014 assessments and reviews.
- Manage a varied caseload involving adults with care and support needs.
- Complete Mental Capacity Assessments in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
- Identify, investigate and respond to adult safeguarding concerns in line with relevant procedures.
- Develop and review person-centred care and support plans.
- Work collaboratively with health professionals, community organisations, families and carers.
- Undertake risk assessments and develop proportionate risk management plans.
- Promote independence, choice, control and wellbeing through strengths-based social work practice.
- Support adults to access appropriate community resources and services.
- Maintain accurate case recordings and ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities.
Essential Requirements
- Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, Diploma or equivalent).
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Successful completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
- Previous experience working within Adult Social Care.
- Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and adult safeguarding procedures.
- Experience undertaking assessments, support planning and statutory interventions.
- Excellent communication, assessment and multi-agency working skills.
