Residential Support Worker - Children's Residential Home (Nottinghamshire)

Shift Pattern
2 Days On / 4 Days Off
Shift Details
- Day 1: 8:00am to 11:00pm, followed by a sleep-in
- Day 2: 8:00am to 11:00pm, followed by a sleep-in
- Day 3: Finish at approximately 8:30am, then enjoy 4 consecutive days off
Candidate Responsibilities
- Providing safe, consistent, and child-centred care to children and young people
- Supporting emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing of young residents
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at all times
- Building positive relationships and acting as a positive role model
- Assisting young people with education, training, employment, and life skills development
- Supporting the implementation and review of care plans
- Encouraging participation in recreational, educational, and social activities
- Working collaboratively with families, social workers, schools, and external professionals
- Completing accurate case records and reports using electronic systems
- Undertaking household duties such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a homely environment
- Administering medication in line with organisational policies and training
What Are We Looking For?
- Experience working with children and young people (desirable)
- Previous experience in a children’s residential setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Willingness to work towards relevant qualifications in Children and Young People's Services
