About the Role: Permanent Mental Health Social Worker
As a Permanent Mental Health Social Worker , you will be responsible for developing and implementing support plans following Care Act assessments. Your duties will include completing legal work such as Copdol, DOLS, 21a reports, and court reports. You will work collaboratively across disciplines to promote a needs-based approach, develop meaningful engagement with clients often considered 'difficult to engage', and support cars throughout the Care Act process. The role also involves working with young adults transitioning from children's services into adult mental health services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and supporting service users' mental health needs
- Developing clear, person-centred support plans
- Completing legal and funding documentation
- Engaging compassionately with clients and their families
- Supporting young adults transitioning into adult services
- Working within a flexible service model, including occasional Saturday interventions
The Permanent Mental Health Social Worker will work scheduled hours from 09:00 to 17:00, primarily Monday to Friday, with some flexibility needed for planned interventions.
Candidate Requirements :
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as a Social Worker
- MH experience, ideally with AMHP qualification
- Ability to work collaboratively and promote partnership approaches
- Legal knowledge related to mental health and safeguarding
- Strong engagement skills, particularly with challenging clients

Salary & Contract Details
- Salary: SCP 31 (£39,862) up to SCP 34 (£45,091) per annum
- Contract Length: 2 weeks, with opportunity for ongoing roles
- Staffing Level: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays
- Annual Leave: Up to 29 days plus bank holidays depending on service length
