Senior Social Worker - Assessment & Intervention (GRADE K-L)

Our local authority is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker - Assessment & Intervention to join our Child and Culture Directorate on a two-week contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a team committed to safeguarding children and improving their outcomes through high-quality social care practice.
About the Role
As a Senior Social Worker - Assessment & Intervention , you will be responsible for delivering expert social work services, including assessments, care planning, and intervention for children in need, those subject to child protection, or involved in criminal justice processes.
You will work closely with families, internal teams, and external agencies to ensure the safety, well-being, and development of children and young people.
This role involves acting as a positive role model, fostering collaborative partnerships, and advocating for the best interests of service users.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Prioritizing and responding to high-priority cases with appropriate assessment and intervention
- Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with statutory and local policies
- Conducting needs and risk assessments, collaborating with children, families, and multi-agency teams
- Developing and progressing tailored care plans aimed at achieving positive outcomes
- Initiating and chairing reviews and case conferences, including court work as required
- Supporting families through advice, advocacy, and guidance
- Managing your own workload effectively and working within budgetary constraints
- Maintaining professional standards, confidentiality, and adherence to regulatory requirements
