About the Accommodation Advisor Role
As the Accommodation Advisor , you will carry a high caseload, working directly with men in custody or on probation who require housing support. Your primary responsibility will be to assess individual needs, build tailored action plans, and deliver guidance through one-to-one and group sessions both inside prisons and in the community. You will collaborate with probation officers, local authorities, and voluntary organizations to ensure a seamless pathway to housing solutions. This position involves a mix of administrative record-keeping, achieving KPIs, and engaging in challenging conversations to secure the best outcomes for service users.
- Managing a high caseload of men in custody or on probation needing housing support
- Conducting needs and risk assessments, then developing focused action plans
- Delivering individual and group sessions within prisons and community settings
- Collaborating with probation teams, local authorities, and voluntary partners
- Maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures
- Achieving set KPIs and working within target-driven environments
- Being flexible to occasional evenings and weekends as required
Candidate Requirements & Skills
- Working knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs (housing, health, benefits, finance)
- Experience in target-driven roles
- Safeguarding and groupwork experience
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle, or means to travel across Leicestershire
- Willingness to undergo Enhanced DBS and Prison Clearance
