Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for ex-police officers to work as Police Staff Investigators to work in Burton, Staffordshire. This is a full-time, long-term contract, and is paying Β£20.91p per hour (Umbrella). The position is based within the Central Investigation Team (CIT).
Working hours / contract: Full-time: Monday to Friday, 9:00am β 5:00pm (40 hours per week) Contract: Agency assignment (temporary agency contract β up to 12 months) Location: Burton, Staffordshire (on-site)
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and progress criminal investigations in line with legislation, policy, and procedure
- Gather, review, and evaluate evidence from multiple sources
- Conduct victim, witness, and suspect interviews where appropriate
- Prepare investigation files for criminal justice proceedings
- Liaise with partner agencies, victims, witnesses, and criminal justice partners
- Complete investigative actions to identify, locate, and pursue offenders
- Maintain accurate records and update relevant police systems
- Ensure a professional, ethical, victim-focused approach throughout investigations
Essential criteria:
- Previous investigative experience within policing, law enforcement, regulatory, military, or a similar investigative environment
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and sound decision-making
- Ability to produce clear, accurate reports and case file documentation
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team
Desirable:
- PIP1 or PIP2 accreditation
- Previous experience within a police investigation unit / CID / investigative teams
- Interviewing experience (victims, witnesses, and/or suspects)
- Knowledge of criminal law and criminal justice processes
