Support Accountant – Temporary Contract (our client)

This is a short-term contract lasting 2 weeks initially, with the possibility of extension, offering a competitive pay rate of £25 per hour umbrella or £22.08 PAYE inclusive. Support Accountant – Key Responsibilities
As a Support Accountant , your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting Finance Business Partners with revenue and capital budget monitoring
- Contributing to annual budget setting, financial forecasts, and management reporting
- Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts, reconciliations, and working papers
- Ensuring the accurate accounting of grants, reserves, and overheads
- Providing financial advice and guidance to service managers and budget holders to facilitate sound financial decisions
- Supporting statutory and government returns, fees, and charges reviews
- Managing financial systems and participating in financial management projects
The Support Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring financial processes are smoothly managed and transparent, supporting the organization's strategic financial planning and compliance.
Candidate Requirements for the Support Accountant Role
To excel as a Support Accountant , candidates should possess:
- Proven experience in an accounting or management finance role
- A knowledge base of accounting principles, budget control, and financial reporting
- Experience supporting budget holders or non-financial managers with clear communication of financial data
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems, forecasting, and reconciliations
- AAT qualification or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience within the public sector (desirable), though strong private sector management accountants will also be considered
