Service Care Legal are recruiting for a Senior Contracts Lawyer to join an East London Borough Council on a locum basis.
ROLE: Senior Contracts Lawyer
LOCATION: East London – hybrid (1–2 days per week in office)
RATE: £52.60ph umbrella / £46.09ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £41.12ph PAYE exc. holiday pay
CONTRACT: 3 months initially, likely to extend
ROLE:
- Provide senior legal advice on public procurement and commercial contracts covering goods, services and works.
- Handle complex matters including drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts and procurement documentation.
- Advise senior officers and Members on legal, governance and policy matters.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualified Solicitor/Barrister with strong contracts and procurement experience.
- Previous local authority/public sector experience essential.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and advisory skills with the ability to manage complex matters independently.
