We are seeking dedicated and skilled Children's Social Workers to join our assessment team in Castle Hill, working across the borough. This is an ideal role for professionals who are familiar with statutory processes, referral, and assessment work, and who are committed to protecting vulnerable children.
Children's Social Worker Bolton - Key Responsibilities
As a Children's Social Worker in Bolton, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting home visits to gather information and assess safeguarding concerns
- Undertaking S47 enquiries, including coordinating statutory meetings and closing cases when appropriate
- Providing short-term interventions and passing cases for further assessment when necessary
- Working within the courts, taking statutory action to protect children, including emergency protection orders and initiating care proceedings
- Covering a duty rota, providing frontline social work, including reactive visits and urgent assessments
- Managing caseloads across Bolton, with the flexibility to undertake home visits at short notice
- Working within the statutory framework and maintaining compliance with safeguarding policies
The Children's Social Worker role requires strong experience within referral and assessment teams, preferably with a background working in court settings or emergency responses. Candidates must be flexible and able to meet the service needs, including participating in duty and home visits, sometimes at short notice.
