Advanced Social Worker – Children’s Court Team Are you a dedicated Children's Social Worker with extensive experience managing complex care proceedings and a passion for making a difference? Service Care Solutions are seeking an experienced Advanced Social Worker – Children’s Court Team to join a newly established pilot service in our client for a 12-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a unique island setting, supporting vulnerable children and young people through high-quality assessments, care planning, and expert court evidence.
Role Responsibilities for the Advanced Social Worker – Children’s Court Team
- Managing a complex caseload of children subject to care proceedings from initiation to conclusion.
- Leading legal proceedings with professional evidence and court recommendations.
- Producing high-quality court statements, assessments, and care plans.
- Conducting comprehensive parenting and risk assessments, safeguarding interventions.
- Developing and implementing effective care plans promoting children’s safety and wellbeing.
- Providing expert input into complex cases and modelling best practice within the team.
- Applying trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches alongside motivational interviewing techniques.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.
- Supporting permanency planning and ensuring delivery of court-approved care plans.
- Maintaining accurate case records and adhering to statutory deadlines.
- Contributing to the growth and success of the new Court Team pilot service.
Candidate Requirements
- Recognised Social Work qualification.
- Current Social Work England registration and our client Care Commission eligibility.
- A minimum of 5 years’ post-qualifying experience within statutory Children’s Social Care.
- Significant experience managing care proceedings and providing evidence in court.
- Strong skills in direct work with children, young people, and families.
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation, risk assessment, and care planning.
- Proven experience preparing detailed court reports and assessments.
- Effective communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Full, clean manual driving license and willingness to travel across our client.
- Enhanced DBS, preferably registered with the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
