Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Greater Manchester for a Legal Assistant to join its legal team, specialising in Adult Social Care. This is an initial three-month rolling contract, covering maternity leave, with potential for extension. The successful candidate will provide essential legal and administrative support to the team, assisting with a range of legal matters and ensuring that court deadlines and procedures are managed effectively.
Location: Greater Manchester/Hybrid Contract: 3-Month Rolling Contract Working Arrangement: Office-based during training, then hybrid Umbrella Rate: £17.64 per hour Umbrella DOE PAYE rate, including holiday pay: Approximately £13.77 per hour, depending on the agreed umbrella rate.
Key Responsibilities as a Legal Assistant
- Managing court timetables and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Attending legal meetings and preparing accurate minutes.
- Arranging meetings, coordinating appointments and providing court cover where required.
- Preparing and organising court bundles and relevant legal documentation.
- Assisting with legal drafting and document preparation.
About you as a Legal Assistant
- A law degree or equivalent legal qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Previous legal experience would be advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
