Youth Engagement Worker
Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: 35 hours per week
Rate: £21 umbrella an hour (£16 PAYE an hour)
Lambeth Council are looking for a Detached Youth Outreach Worker to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Signposting young people to positive youth activities, delivering workshops in schools and in the community, reducing community tensions through detached youth work.
- Be responsible for delivering group work programmes, deploying youth outreach initiatives, and have strong community engagement skills.
- Planning, delivering, and evaluating group work programmes.
- Completing detached youth outreach sessions, building and maintaining positive relationships with young people, their families, and community stakeholders.
- Identify and respond to the needs of young people, providing appropriate support and referrals.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in youth work, particularly in detached or outreach settings.
- Good understanding of the issues affecting young people and the ability to engage them effectively.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work during the day, evenings, and weekends as required, as working hours are Monday-Saturday between 12pm and 9pm at various locations across the Borough.
- Enhanced DBS.
