Wrexham Council are seeking to recruit an experienced support worker to join their team based in a supported living service for adults with mental health illness. This is initially a temporary position for 3 months with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis. You will work 12 hour shifts from 9am-9pm with some weekend working required to fit the rota. The standard hours are 36 per week (3 shifts) and offers a pay rate of £13.26ph PAYE.

Duties of the role include:

  • Supporting individuals with daily living skills, medication, appointments and leisure activities.
  • This may include assisting with personal hygiene, dressing, cooking, household tasks etc.
  • Enable people to achieve their person centred plans, promoting positive outcomes and enablement for individuals to reach their optimum level of recovery and independence.
  • Ability to follow care and support plans and risk assessments.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of working with adults with mental health illness.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Be able to work upon own initiative and within a team.
