We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Workshop Controller to join a busy Main Dealership in Stoke-on-Trent on a permanent basis. If you possess strong workshop coordination skills, enjoy supporting Technicians, and thrive in maintaining high standards, this role is perfect for you.
As a Workshop Controller, you will be vital in ensuring the smooth operation of the service department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing workshop activities
- Supporting Technicians

This is a permanent role with a competitive salary of £36,000 basic, complemented by bonus schemes and progression opportunities.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Ensure all workshop practices comply with company, DVSA, OEM, and health & safety policies
- Oversee service work to ensure jobs are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time
- Support Technicians during repairs and provide technical assistance when required
- Maintain high workshop standards and quality control across all repairs
- Liaise with colleagues and departments to deliver excellent customer service
- Schedule workshop activities based on customer demand, work targets, parts availability, and job complexity
- Maintain strong relationships with vehicle manufacturers
- Produce technical reports as needed
- Manage workshop workload effectively, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or similar automotive workshop role
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage workshop scheduling efficiently
- Experience supporting Technicians in a dealership environment
- Full UK Driving Licence
