A client within the Public Sector based in Worcestershire is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their Housing Property Services Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Housing Property Services environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to support Housing Property Services in the development of appropriate contract documentation and procurement of goods, services and works contracts, whilst being responsible for the financial measurement, valuation and reporting of works across a range of housing projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing contract documentation including Tenders, Bills of Quantities, Work Schedules, Specifications and Schedule of Rates
- Procuring goods, services and works contracts, including tender evaluation and reporting outcomes
- Undertaking site measurements and valuation of works, preparing interim payments and final accounts
- Preparing and agreeing costs for variations, non-standard items, claims and final accounts
- Producing accurate financial and project-related reports
- Assessing leaseholder contributions and service charges and assisting with regulatory and funding returns
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
- A Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 2 years’ post‑qualification experience within the Construction Industry (pre‑ and post‑contract duties)
- Knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations including CDM
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
- Experience working within a Local Authority or public sector environment
- Knowledge of various forms of building contracts and standard methods of measurement
- Proven experience managing revenue, capital and externally funded budgets
- Experience creating and issuing contract administration documentation
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £42 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £32 per hour PAYE).
