Are you passionate about supporting children and families to build stronger, safer relationships? Worcestershire County Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Contact Worker to join the Family Contact Service, playing a vital role in safeguarding and supporting children across the county.
The Role
As a Contact Worker, you’ll supervise and support contact sessions between children and their families as part of an assessment, plan, or review. You’ll play a key role in promoting positive family relationships, empowering parents and carers to meet their children’s needs, and ensuring that every child’s voice is heard and respected. You’ll work closely with Social Workers and other professionals in the team around the family, ensuring safe, nurturing environments for every child you support.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support family contact sessions, ensuring children’s safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Encourage and empower parents/carers to take active responsibility for their children’s needs.
- Provide accurate, timely written reports following each contact session.
- Transport children to and from contact venues when required.
- Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends (one weekend per month on a rota basis).
- Collaborate effectively with safeguarding professionals and partner agencies.
