We are working with a large housing provider to recruit a Gardener to support the upkeep and presentation of residential estates across North West London and Hertfordshire borders. This is a hands-on, outdoor role suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining green spaces and enjoys visible, rewarding work. You’ll be responsible for ensuring communal landscaped areas are well-maintained, safe, and welcoming all year round. A company vehicle is provided, and you’ll be based from a local hub.
Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled grounds maintenance across multiple estates
- Maintain lawns, hedges, borders, and planted areas
- Plant and maintain seasonal bedding and landscaped areas
- Weed, spray, leaf clear, and carry out seasonal horticultural tasks
- Operate and maintain powered and manual gardening equipment
- Apply and store chemicals safely in line with regulations
- Remove and dispose of green waste appropriately
- Assist with landscaping projects and estate improvements
- Respond to emergencies and report vandalism, defects, or hazards
- Adhere to health & safety requirements and wear PPE at all times
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Previous experience in gardening or grounds maintenance
- Ability to use powered and manual horticultural equipment
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Basic understanding of health & safety
- PA1 / PA6a certificates desirable but not essential
- Willingness to undergo a Basic DBS check
