Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for two experienced Assistant Solicitors to join a high-profile Public Inquiry legal team based in central Edinburgh. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to work of significant public importance, within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
The Role
Working closely with the Solicitor to the Inquiry and Counsel, you will play a key role in identifying witnesses, gathering and analysing evidence, and supporting the overall investigative process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and recovering evidence, including engagement with external stakeholders
- Reviewing and analysing large volumes of documentation and assessing relevance
- Supporting the preparation of summaries, thematic reports, and briefing materials
- Drafting legal documentation including Rule 8 requests and Section 21 notices
About You:
To be successful, you will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor in Scotland with 5+ years’ PQE
- Have a background in litigation or large-scale project work (medical negligence experience advantageous)
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage high volumes of complex information
- Be adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working as part of a small, dynamic team
Working Arrangements/Info:
- Based in central Edinburgh (Waverley Gate)
- Minimum of three days per week in the office
- Contract length up to 23 months
- Some travel may be required (primarily Dundee/Tayside)
Salary: £62,111 - Ltd day rate: £326.04 - PAYE (INC) £276.66
