A client within the Public Sector based in Shropshire is currently recruiting for a Electrical Compliance Officer to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a compliance and building services environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to ensure the highest standards of electrical compliance and safety across the Council’s estate, delivering high-quality, cost-effective services that meet regulatory requirements and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Reviewing service report documentation, addressing findings, and ensuring compliance is consistently maintained.
• Managing contractor performance, including KPIs and corrective actions where required.
• Preparing, reviewing, and updating service contract specifications in line with legislation and Council standards.
• Carrying out audits, inspections, and monitoring of building services systems to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Supporting the creation of a planned maintenance and asset replacement programme.
• Providing guidance to staff and colleagues on compliance and safety practices.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• A degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least five years’ experience in compliance management or a similar role.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Professional qualifications such as City & Guilds 2391, 2382 or equivalent.
• Experience using CAFM systems and knowledge of CDM requirements.
• Strong IT literacy including Microsoft 365.
• Experience of working within a local authority or public sector environment.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £22.50 – £24.00 per hour PAYE).
