Under the direction of the Senior Manager or Service Manager for Area Care & Support, or Therapy and operating as part of the integrated service management team, the team manager manages a team of practitioners that deliver effective care and support which improve outcomes for adults with a specific range of needs living within a defined geographical area of Cornwall.

Specifically, as directed, the team manager directly manages and supervises social care assessments and plans across all the tiers of need identified within the Care Act 2014, helping to ensure that casework decisions effectively safeguard adults, promote their wellbeing and improve the quality of their lives. The role directly manages multidisciplinary teams. Within this context, the team manager is directly accountable for the quality and consistency of practice standards and performance in Referral, Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Review within the team caseload.

Responsible for translating new policy, legislation and guidance into team practice. Provides evidence of Peer Reviews and HMI inspections.

The ideal candidate for this position will succeed in this role if they have both knowledge and technical depth about the company and the industry. This is essential as they will be a central person in the decision making process, working with multiple individuals across different teams when necessary. As a result, they will also be overseeing specific personnel.
