Service Care Solutions is currently seeking a highly skilled Substance Misuse Nurse to join a supportive team in Liverpool. This is a temporary contract role offering competitive pay and an excellent opportunity to contribute to vital community health services.
Job Details
- Job Title: Substance Misuse Nurse
- Location: Liverpool
- Employment Type: Contract (approx. 1 month with potential extension)
- Pay Rate: £35 Ltd per hour
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Start Date: Immediate
Candidate Responsibilities
- Conduct physical and mental health assessments and facilitate appropriate referrals to primary or secondary healthcare services.
- Complete alcohol assessments in line with Alcohol Policy to determine safe detoxification requirements.
- Assist with opioid titration to achieve optimal Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) dosing, liaising with team members and community pharmacists.
- Provide education on health promotion and screening for blood-borne viruses (BBVs), including Hepatitis A/B vaccinations.
- Work within integrated care pathways for individuals infected with BBVs (Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV).
- Undertake community alcohol and opioid detoxification at the service or in the service user\’s home.
- Perform phlebotomy, interpret blood results, and use findings to guide treatment decisions and referrals.
- Refer patients for specialist inpatient services when necessary and liaise closely with hospital teams.
