A client within the Public Sector, based in Tyne and Wear, is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Responsive Repairs Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority environment.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out all aspects of building surveying across the housing stock
- Undertaking daily property inspections and identifying defects and remedial works
- Producing detailed work packages and repair specifications
- Arranging and overseeing repair works in line with the organisation's Repairs & Maintenance policy
- Liaising with contractors, internal teams, and residents to ensure works are completed efficiently
Qualifications
- A relevant qualification such as HNC/HND or Degree in Building Surveying or Construction
- Membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS or CIOB)
- Proven experience working within a local authority or public sector housing environment
Skills (Beneficial)
- Strong knowledge of responsive repairs and maintenance processes
- Ability to diagnose building defects and specify appropriate remedial works
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Remuneration
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and, as such, are offering £25 per hour Umbrella LTD (Inside IR35) (approx. £19 per hour PAYE).
