Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Options Team Leader to join a busy Homelessness Service on a temporary basis for an initial 12 week contract. This is a key frontline leadership role covering the front-facing homelessness service, managing operational delivery whilst supporting officers and advisers with complex casework. The role is full-time and will require attendance in the office up to 3 days per week based in Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham.

The Role

  • Lead and support a frontline Housing Options and Homelessness team
  • Provide operational oversight across homelessness prevention and relief services
  • Support officers and advisers with complex homelessness casework and decision making
  • Ensure statutory duties are delivered in line with legislation and best practice
  • Monitor performance, case quality and service standards across the team
  • Conduct supervision, coaching and support staff development
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies to prevent and relieve homelessness
  • Contribute towards service improvement and effective service delivery

Requirements

  • Significant experience within Housing Options and Homelessness services
  • Previous experience supervising or managing frontline housing staff
  • Fully conversant with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Housing Act and Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED)
  • Experience managing complex homelessness applications, reviews and statutory duties
  • Strong knowledge of homelessness prevention, relief and temporary accommodation duties
  • Ability to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced operational environment
  • Excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills

The post will involve office attendance in Chelmsley Wood up to 3 days per week alongside borough-wide service responsibilities.
