Sefton Council is seeking experienced Senior Practitioner Social Workers to join our Children in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care Teams. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a progressive and ambitious local authority that is committed to delivering high-quality services to children, young people, and families.

Responsibilities
Manage complex cases involving children in need, child protection, and looked-after children.
Provide expert guidance, mentoring, and support to social workers within the team.
Undertake statutory assessments, direct work with families, and safeguarding interventions.
Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, case conferences, and multi-agency meetings.
Work collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals, and other agencies.
Contribute to the development of best practice, supporting a culture of learning and continuous improvement.Requirements
Qualifications: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
Experience: Minimum two years’ post-qualification experience in a statutory children’s social care service.
Skills: Strong risk assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
Knowledge: Understanding of child protection legislation, assessment frameworks, and best practices.
