Adult Social Worker – Carers Reviews Team Central Bedfordshire Council

Office attendance required once every fortnight

£30.00 per hour LTD (inclusive of holiday pay) OR £22.58 per hour PAYE (exclusive of holiday pay)

About the Role

Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking experienced Adult Social Workers to support a review of its Carers Breaks Service. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering Care Act-compliant Carers Reviews, ensuring support arrangements are proportionate to assessed needs, and supporting the transition from a voucher-based system to Direct Payments. The successful candidate will empower carers through personalised, strengths-based, and outcome-focused support planning while ensuring resources are used effectively and in line with statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carers Reviews & Assessments
    • Undertake strengths-based, outcome-focused Carer’s Assessments and Reviews in accordance with the Care Act 2014.
    • Ensure assessments are person-centred, proportionate, and legally compliant.
    • Manage sensitive conversations regarding changes, reductions, or cessation of services.
    • Develop personalised support plans that promote independence and wellbeing.
  • Right-Sizing Support Services
    • Review existing support arrangements and align services with eligible assessed needs.
