We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Psychiatric Liaison Nurse to join the Liaison Psychiatry Team in Sheffield on an agency basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, providing specialist mental health assessment and support to patients presenting in acute healthcare settings.
Location: Sheffield
Department: Liaison Psychiatry
Contract Length: 3 Months (with potential extension)
Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week
Shifts Available: 7 days per week
Shift Patterns:
- Predominantly Night Shifts: 19:00 – 08:10
- Some Late Shifts Available: 14:00 – 00:00
- Flexible working across a 7-day service
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments and risk assessments.
- Provide timely psychiatric liaison support within acute care settings.
- Develop and implement appropriate care plans.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including medical, nursing, and social care professionals.
- Assess and manage patients presenting with mental health crises, self-harm, substance misuse, and complex psychiatric needs.
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation and adherence to professional standards.
Requirements:
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration.
- Previous experience working within Liaison Psychiatry, Crisis Teams, Acute Mental Health Services, or Emergency Care settings.
- Strong assessment, risk management, and communication skills.
