Sessional Tutor Location: Slough Start Date: September 2025 Contract: Initial 3 months (with potential extension) Hours: 4–12 hours per week (varied, termly courses) Pay Rate: £32 per hour (Umbrella) (£25 PAYE an hour) Slough Borough Council is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Sessional Tutors to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment programmes to residents of Slough and the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. This is an exciting opportunity to support adult learners and contribute to the success of our Adult Learning Service. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging courses in English, ESOL, Maths, and Digital Skills. Ensure teaching, learning and assessment meets quality standards set by the service, awarding bodies, and Ofsted. Support learners to achieve their goals through effective teaching and personalised learning. Contribute to wider service activities, including CPD, meetings and examination activities. Teach across daytime or evening sessions (Monday to Friday).Requirements: Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS or equivalent). Recent teaching experience in one or more of the subject areas. Strong understanding of assessment methods and Ofsted expectations.
