Barnsley Council Children’s Services are seeking to recruit a Senior Early Years Practitioner to work with children and their families alongside the social workers in the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and model high-quality early years practice within the setting, supporting staff development and maintaining a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of play-based educational activities tailored to children’s individual interests, development and learning needs.
- Support children’s care, wellbeing and independence through effective supervision, safeguarding and the promotion of health, safety and hygiene standards.
- Build positive partnerships with parents, carers and multi-agency professionals to support children’s development and deliver integrated family services.
- Maintain accurate records, contribute to quality improvement and self-evaluation processes and ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection and early years legislation and policies.
Qualifications
- Experience of working with children and their families.
- Enhanced DBS check.
- NVQ Level 3 Early Years qualification.
Details
The role is a temporary, full-time position for an initial period of 3 months with a view to this being extended on a rolling basis and is offering a pay rate of £18.35ph (£23.86 per hour via an umbrella company).
