Service Care Legal are currently working on behalf of a local authority in the Hertfordshire area who are seeking a Property Legal Assistant to join their team. Please see below further details about this role.
ROLE: Property Legal Assistant
LOCATION: Hertfordshire
RATE: £24ph umbrella / £21.49ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £19.17ph PAYE exc. holiday pay
CONTRACT: 3-month ongoing contract, 37 hours per week
Please note that this role would predominantly be office-based, with possibility of home working available once settled in.
The Role
- Supporting the delivery of property-related legal services, ensuring best use of the Council’s property assets
- Assisting with commercial and residential conveyancing, including Right to Buy matters
- Drafting legally binding documents, correspondence and completion statements
- Identifying and escalating legal irregularities or potential fraudulent activity
The Person
- A law-related qualification (LPC / LLM / LLB) as well as legal work experience are essential
- Strong working knowledge of property and land law, including Housing Acts, Landlord & Tenant legislation, and relevant case law
- Previous experience providing technical advice on conveyancing and complex property matters
