Are you an experienced Registered Manager ready to take on a meaningful leadership role supporting children in high-risk environments?
We are urgently seeking a passionate and confident leader to manage a 5-bed children\βs residential home in Stevenage, supporting Looked After Children (LAC) and ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance.
This is a pivotal opportunity to lead a well-established team that includes a Deputy Manager, 3 Senior Support Workers, and 9 Care Workers, within a supportive organisation dedicated to safeguarding, development, and positive outcomes for young people.
The Role
As the Registered Manager, you will:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of a multi-bedded children\βs home.
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the care team.
- Manage rotas, budgets, and staffing levels to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Take responsibility for recruitment, interviews, and staff development.
- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and maintain high inspection standards.
- Prepare and submit Schedule 2 (SC2) registration forms.
- Lead by example during high-risk or challenging situations.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children and young people.
Person Specification Essential
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Previous Ofsted registration and experience managing inspections
- Minimum of 2 years\β experience managing children\βs residential services
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, LAC frameworks, and Ofsted compliance
- Proven ability to manage staff rotas, budgets, and operational performance
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience working in high-risk or therapeutic environments
- Strong track record of improving Ofsted ratings
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills
