A national regulatory organisation is currently recruiting for multiple Registered Building Inspectors (Class 3H) to support the ongoing implementation of the new Building Safety regime across Higher-Risk Buildings. This is a fully remote opportunity suited to highly experienced Building Control professionals with extensive knowledge of Building Regulations, Gateway processes, and Dutyholder compliance under the Building Safety Act.
The successful candidates will provide specialist technical expertise across complex building safety and regulatory matters, supporting multidisciplinary teams involved in Gateway 2 applications, Safety Case assessments, investigations, enforcement activity, and technical policy development. The role will play a key part in supporting compliance standards across Higher-Risk Buildings under the new regulatory framework.
Responsibilities- Provide specialist Building Control expertise on Higher-Risk Buildings
- Support multidisciplinary teams reviewing Gateway 2 applications
- Assist with Safety Case Report assessments and enforcement activity
- Contribute to technical guidance, operational policy, and regulatory frameworks
- Advise on Dutyholder responsibilities and occupation-stage compliance
- Support development and review of Building Control standards and procedures
- Attend technical and policy meetings internally and externally as required
- Must hold Registered Building Inspector Class 3H status (essential)
- Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and Building Safety Act requirements
- Experience working on Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs)
- Understanding of Gateway processes, golden thread requirements, and Dutyholder compliance
- Previous Local Authority, Approved Inspector, or regulatory experience highly desirable
- BPSS clearance eligibility required
