Are you an experienced clinician passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based ADHD assessments for children and young people? We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, clinician-led primary care organisation in Worcestershire for a CYP ADHD Assessment Clinician to join their growing neurodevelopmental service.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive, governance-led MDT environment, contributing directly to safe, timely, and defensible diagnostic outcomes for children, young people and their families.

About the role

You'll deliver structured CYP ADHD assessments, integrating multi-informant evidence from home and education settings, presenting cases to MDT, and producing clear, high-quality reports that make a genuine difference to families. You'll work closely with a Consultant Psychiatrist/Paediatrician and a wider neurodevelopmental team, within clearly defined clinical governance arrangements — with prescribing responsibilities sitting separately with designated prescribers, so you can focus on what you do best: thorough, high-quality assessment work.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver structured CYP ADHD assessments, including developmental history, functional impact, and differential considerations
  • Review pre-assessment information (questionnaires, school evidence, prior records) to support triage
  • Gather and integrate multi-informant evidence across home and education settings
  • Present cases to MDT and contribute to evidence-based, defensible diagnostic decision-making
  • Provide clear, sensitive feedback to children, young people and families
  • Produce high-quality reports and correspondence to agreed timeframes
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and support performance reporting
  • Identify and escape safeguarding concerns, clinical risk, and complexity
  • Contribute to audit, incident learning, and service improvement
  • Participate in supervision, MDT reflective practice, and ongoing CPD

What we're looking for

  • Current professional registration with NMC or HCPC (or equivalent)
  • Direct experience delivering CYP ADHD assessments within a diagnostic pathway
  • Significant post-qualification experience working with children and young people in mental health, neurodevelopmental, paediatric, CAMHS, or related services
  • Training/competency in recognised ADHD assessment tools
  • Experience contributing to structured assessment processes (history taking, multi-source information gathering, clinical reasoning)
  • Ability to integrate evidence into clear, defensible clinical conclusions
  • Strong report-writing skills, with a track record of delivering high-quality documentation to deadline
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding, risk identification and escalation in CYP services
  • Confident MDT working within governed diagnostic pathways
  • Experience of audit, service improvement, or pathway refinement
  • Experience within high-volume assessment pathways or Right to Choose models

What's on offer

  • NHS-aligned pension
  • CPD and study leave
  • No on-call requirement
  • A structured, governance-led MDT environment with clear support from senior medical oversight
  • The opportunity to genuinely shape and strengthen a growing CYP ADHD pathway
