Contract: Temporary - 3 Months Initially (With Likely Extension)

Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 5:00PM

Pay Rate: £23 P/H Umbrella Ltd (£20.59 P/H PAYE Inclusive/£18.37 P/H PAYE Exclusive)

The Opportunity

Service Care Solutions is a respected charity organisation delivering specialist drug and alcohol recovery services across the UK. We work closely with criminal justice agencies, probation services and community partners to support vulnerable individuals and reduce re‑offending through recovery‑focused interventions.

As a Criminal Justice Recovery Practitioner you will support service users involved within the criminal justice system who are affected by drug and alcohol misuse. You will work closely with probation, prisons, courts, police and multi‑agency partners to support engagement into treatment services and improve long‑term recovery outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated practitioner with experience in substance misuse and criminal justice settings who is passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals to reduce offending behaviour and achieve sustainable recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of criminal justice service users affected by substance misuse
  • Complete assessments, recovery plans and risk assessments
  • Deliver one‑to‑one psychosocial interventions and structured recovery support
  • Support individuals subject to Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRR), Alcohol Treatment Requirements (ATR), Restrictions on Bail (RoB) and other criminal justice pathways
  • Work collaboratively with probation, prisons, police, courts and partner agencies
  • Deliver harm reduction advice including naloxone and overdose prevention interventions
  • Support continuity of care from custody into community treatment services
  • Maintain accurate and timely case management records
  • Promote safeguarding and respond appropriately to risk concerns

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within substance misuse services
  • Experience working within criminal justice, probation or offender management pathways
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management practices
  • Experience delivering recovery‑focused interventions and managing complex caseloads
  • Excellent communication, report writing and partnership working skills
  • Good IT skills including experience using case management systems
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
  • Enhanced Adults & Children DBS (within 12 months or registered on Update Service)
  • Valid Right to Work documentation
  • Satisfactory employment references
