We are seeking experienced and motivated Clinical Advisors to join the NHS 111 Single Point of Access service based in Gillingham, Kent.
Location: On site - Gillingham
Service: NHS 111 - Single Point of Access (SPA)
Pay Rate: ÂŁ23.41 per hour (PAYE - inclusive of holiday pay)
Hours: Flexibility to work across a 24-hour period (service operates 7 days per week)
About the Role
As a Clinical Advisor, you will play a vital role in delivering urgent healthcare support to the public by carrying out complex clinical triage, providing safe and effective advice, and ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time. Working within a fast‑paced contact centre environment, you will combine clinical assessment software with your professional judgement to assess patient needs sensitively and accurately. Key Responsibilities
- Work autonomously to deliver high‑quality clinical triage using clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and assessment software.

- Provide evidence‑based healthcare advice and facilitate appropriate onward referrals.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and partner agencies to ensure continuity of care.
- Manage complex, emotional, or distressing calls professionally and compassionately.
- Identify safeguarding concerns and elevate appropriately in line with policy.
- Participate in call monitoring, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support call centre colleagues with clinical expertise and guidance.
- Maintain compliance with clinical governance, national standards, and NHS protocols.

- Undertake mandatory training and maintain ongoing professional development.

Essential Requirements
- Registered healthcare professional (NMC or HCPC registered).
- Minimum of two years recent clinical experience within Primary Care or Accident & Emergency.
- NHS Pathway trained.
- Ability to work on site, Gillingham, Kent.

- Excellent communication and telephone consultation skills.
